Claudication choroiditis
Serpentinous choroidoretinitis is a rare bilateral chronic recurrent inflammatory disease that mainly involves retinal pigment epithelium, choroidal capillaries, and choroids. The retina is often secondary. Active lesions are characterized by irregular gray-white or yellow-white infiltrating lesions at the levels of retinal pigment epithelium and choroidal capillaries. This disease is rare and sometimes similar to acute posterior pole multifocal squamous pigment epithelial disease (AMPPPE), so it is described here as a reference for differential diagnosis, because the two are very different in treatment and prognosis identical. There are many other names for this disease in the literature, which all emphasize the primary change of choroiditis or choroidal lesions.
