Fracture of posterior talus

The fracture here is the result of a plantar flexion injury, and pressure acts on the talar tubercle from the posterior lower tibia. This cartilage joint fracture usually occurs as a result of a sudden jump with the cheekbones or toes during basketball or tennis. Similarly, pressing back on an empty chair with force can also happen. Ballet dancers are more susceptible to this type of talus elongation (Stieda process).
