Tuberculous middle ear mastoiditis
Middle ear tuberculosis was diagnosed only after the discovery of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in 1882. Mostly secondary to tuberculosis, the incidence rate was 13% at the beginning of the 19th century. In the past 20 years, the incidence of tuberculosis has been significantly reduced due to the advent of effective anti-tuberculosis drugs. Tuberculous middle ear mastoiditis has now rarely been seen. The most reported cases in China were Wang Pengwan's 41 cases in 1956.
