Recurrent ulcer surgery

Recurrent ulcers after gastrectomy mostly occur at the edge of the anastomotic stoma or on the side of the jejunum. If the ulcer recurs and spreads over the remnant stomach or upper jejunum, Zhuo-Ellison syndrome should be considered. The diagnosis and measurement of gastrin should be further examined, and the focus should be on the detection of functional adenomas in the pancreas, duodenum or gastric stump. Adenomas should be removed if found, otherwise total gastrectomy should be performed.
