Hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelial cell tumor
Hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelial cell tumor is a rare hepatic vascular tumor. Weiss and Ensinger first described superficial or deep soft tissue endothelial cell tumors. The lung-like tumor was originally called vascular endothelial cell bronchoalveolar tumor. It was first considered to be a metastatic tumor in the liver, and it was not until later that Ishak found it to be a liver tumor. Tumors grow slowly with varying prognosis. Biologically, it is a marginal tumor, between benign hemangiomas and malignant angiosarcoma. No history of toxic substance exposure and hepatitis virus infection. Without liver cirrhosis, metastases are more common at first diagnosis.
