Vitamin B2 deficiency in children
Due to insufficient supply of riboflavin in the diet, or due to some secondary reasons, such as increased demand, absorption, and utilization disorders caused by riboflavin deficiency, skin and mucosal lesions such as tongue, lips, mouth, external genitalia, etc., are called riboflavin Vegetarian deficiency. Riboflavin, vitamin B2, is named because it has a yellow color and contains ribitol in the molecule. Riboflavin is water-soluble, exists in food, and mostly exists in combination with protein. The amount of riboflavin that is excreted depends on the needs of the body and may increase or decrease with the degree of protein loss. Like other B vitamins, it does not accumulate in the body; unlike vitamin B1, vitamin B2 is heat-resistant, acid-resistant, oxidative-resistant, and light-resistant, especially ultraviolet (previously milk was bottled in transparent glass bottles. The vitamins in it have been destroyed, and most of them are now protected by opaque cartons.) In addition, water (vitamin B2 will be broken down in the cooking liquid), sulfa drugs, estrogen, alcohol and alkaline substance. Its deficiency often coexists with other B vitamins, especially closely related to niacin.
