Sugar fermentation test

The sugar fermentation test is to test the microorganisms' different ability to use various carbon sources. The principle is that different microorganisms have different enzyme systems. Most bacteria can use sugars as a carbon source, but their ability to break down sugars is very different. Some bacteria can break down certain sugars to produce organic acids (such as lactic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, etc.) and gases (such as hydrogen, methane, carbon dioxide, etc.), and some bacteria only produce acid but not gas.
