Erythrocytosis in the elderly
Polycythaemia vera is a clonal, chronic myeloproliferative disease of unknown etiology characterized by a significant increase in red blood cells. It is characterized by a significant increase in the number of total red blood cells and total blood volume, usually accompanied by an increase in granulocytes and platelets; increased blood viscosity; myeloproliferative disease, often with bone marrow fibrosis and extramedullary hematopoiesis; splenomegaly, skin and mucosa It has a unique red-purple color and various vascular and neurological symptoms.
