Cardiac rhabdomyosarcoma
Rhabdomyoma of heart is the second most common benign cardiac tumor after myxoma and the most common primary cardiac tumor in children. It is more common in newborns and infants. Some call it cardiac hamartoma, Purkinje cell tumor, and histiocytic cardiomyopathy. About 8% of all heart tumors. 90% occur in children under 15 years of age, and 78% of children are younger than 1 year of age. Because the tumor blocks the heart cavity, the baby may die soon after birth.
