Anti-Zona pellucida antibody
Zona pellucida (ZP) is an unstructured, eosinophilic gelatin-like substance surrounding the egg cells. It is secreted by the egg cells and their surrounding follicular cells during the growth and development of the egg. It is composed of 4 Glycoproteins bound to the polypeptide chain through disulfide bonds are highly immunogenic. ZP can induce the body to produce systemic or local cellular and humoral immune responses to produce anti-zonal antibody (AZP). Methods for detecting AZP include immunoprecipitation, indirect immunofluorescence, indirect hemagglutination, latex agglutination test, RIA, and ELISA (most commonly used ELISA). Regardless of the detection method, zona pellucida antigens are required. Due to the common antigenic components of pigs and human eggs, zona pellucida antigens are often used for AZP detection.
