Congenital intrahepatic bile duct cystic dilatation
Congenital intrahepatic bile duct cystic dilatation, also known as intrahepatic bile duct cystic dilatation, Caroli disease. In 1958, French scholar Caroli described in detail the multiple intrahepatic bile duct cystic dilatation in communication with the biliary system. The involved hepatobiliary duct can be one section, one local, one lobe, or bilateral intrahepatic bile ducts. Since then, domestic and foreign scholars have defined it as Caroli disease.
