Serum transferrin

Transferrin is β-globulin that binds and transports iron in serum. Transferrin is synthesized mainly in the liver, and its decrease can be used as an index to judge the prognosis of liver disease. The measurement of serum transferrin can also reflect various diseases such as iron deficiency anemia.
