Pelvic ureteral junction obstruction
Obstruction of the pelvic ureteral junction is a common urinary tract obstructive disease that causes hydronephrosis. The obstruction of the pelvic ureteral junction prevents the pelvic urinary urine from smoothly entering the ureter, which hinders the renal pelvic emptying and causes the expansion of the renal collecting system. At first, the renal pelvis smooth muscle gradually proliferated, strengthened peristalsis, and tried to excrete urine through the distal obstruction; when the increasing amount of peristaltic force could not overcome the obstruction, it caused renal atrophy and impaired renal function.
