Dermatomyositis Gottron Sign

Dermatomyositis Gottron sign: About 70% of dermatomyositis occurs. It manifests as red-purple maculopapular rash on the skin of the metacarpophalangeal and near-knuckle joints. The top surface is flat with a little desquamation. After a long time, the skin atrophies and hypopigmentation. Stiff capillary dilatation and petechiae can be seen in the nail folds, which is helpful for diagnosis. This sign was first described by Gottron in 1930 and is considered a DM-specific rash.
