Enlarged bone
It is more common in Kashin-Beck disease. It is an endemic bone disease that occurs in children with degeneration and necrosis of articular cartilage, patellar cartilage, and patellar cartilage plate. Also known as Liu Guaizi disease. In China, it is mainly distributed in a narrow and alpine zone (Aba Prefecture) from northeast to Tibet. Typical manifestations are dwarfism, enlarged bone ends, limited joint movements, and pain. The earlier the age of onset, the more pronounced the joint deformation and dwarfism, and the symptoms of adult patients are generally milder, often limited to the joints.
