Amoebic disease
Entameme (also called dysentery ameba) (entamoeba ihstolytica Schaudinn, 1930) is mainly parasitic in the colon, causing amoebic dysentery or amoebic colitis. Dysentery amoeba is also the most important pathogenic species in the Rhizopoda class. Under certain conditions, it can spread to the liver, lung, brain, urogenital system and other parts, forming ulcers and abscesses. The amoeba in the lytic tissue is globally distributed, and is more common in tropical and subtropical areas.
