Straight leg lift test

Russell's sign is also known as the straight leg lift test. For nerve roots. Russell's sign, also known as the straight leg lift test, is a manifestation of nerve root stimulation. Positive Lasgue sign is seen in sciatica, lumbar disc herniation, or lumbosacral radiculitis. In order to increase the sciatic nerve pulling strength, the ankle dorsiflexion can be passively caused. If there is a disc herniation, the sciatic nerve pain will be significantly increased.
