Pepsin

Gastric juice contains PP and pepsin, both of which have an activity ratio of 4: 1. Both are secreted by gastric main cells and are transformed from pepsinogen (PG). PG is divided into two groups based on its electrophoretic mobility, called PGⅠ and PGⅡ, both of which can be released into the blood, and only PGⅠ is excreted from the urine. PG is active in acidic gastric juice and inactivated when the pH is greater than 5.
