Daamato sign

D. Amato's sign is an examination method of pleural effusion. For patients suspected of having pleural effusion on one side, take a seat, make a full examination of the back of the chest, make a dullness area, and mark it. Then make him to the supine side, perform a percussion check again, and mark the dullness area again. If the dullness area near the spine is found to move or extend to the anterior heart area when lying down, this is the sign. This shows that there is freely moving fluid in the chest cavity. Due to the weight of the fluid and gravity, the fluid moves forward and downward when the healthy side is lying.
