Intraperitoneal implant
When cancer cells invade outside the serosa, they can fall off to the surface of other organs in the abdominal cavity, causing the abdominal cavity to grow and spread. Intraperitoneal implantation and metastasis is a complex biological process. Omentum, mesentery, bladder rectum, uterine rectum, etc. are the most common sites. It is more common near the pelvic Douglas fossa (rectouterine depression). Induration can also be widely planted in the abdominal cavity to form cancerous peritonitis.
