Nontuberculous mycobacterium
Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) refers to the Mycobacterium genus except Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (human, bovine, African and vole-type Mycobacterium tuberculosis) and Mycobacterium leprae The disease caused by NTM is called non-tuberculous mycobacterium disease (disease caused by NTM). In recent years, as the detection rate has gradually increased, the corresponding understanding of various diseases caused by it has also gradually increased. Most of the non-tuberculous mycobacteria are humic parasites, which have low virulence and belong to conditional pathogens. Symptoms of nontuberculous mycobacterium can be intrapulmonary and extrapulmonary. Extrapulmonary infections can involve skin, bones, and lymph nodes.
