3p test

The plasma protamine paracoagulation test, also known as the 3P test, is an older test for detecting fibrin degradation products. Protamine sulfate can dissociate the fibrin monomers in the soluble complex of fibrin monomers and fibrin degradation products, and the fibrin degradation products polymerize to the appearance of fibrous, flocculent or jelly. It reflects the existence of fibrin degradation products. According to the type of fibrinolysis, different results can be obtained in this test.
