Bladder palpation

Bladder examination is an auxiliary examination method to check whether the abdominal bladder is normal. When the normal bladder is empty, it is hidden in the pelvic cavity and difficult to touch. Only when the bladder is filled and swollen does it reach beyond the upper edge of the pubic bone and touch in the middle of the lower abdomen. One-handed gliding is commonly used for bladder palpation. In the case of supine knee flexion, the physician touches the pubic bone with the right hand from the umbilicus, and should carefully examine its nature after touching the mass.
