Serum chromium
The total amount of chromium in adults is about 6 mg. Chromium is absorbed by the intestine in the form of a trivalent small molecular weight organic complex. The determination of chromium in serum is helpful for the diagnosis of diseases such as chromium poisoning, and it is often combined with the determination of urine chromium in clinical practice.
