Bronchial asthma in the elderly

Bronchial asthma (referred to asthma for short) is a chronic inflammation of the airways mainly based on eosinophils and mast cell responses. This kind of inflammation can cause a wide range of reversible airway obstruction symptoms in susceptible persons. Clinical manifestations are recurrent wheezing, dyspnea, chest tightness, or cough. It can be treated or recovered on its own, and its airways are highly responsive to irritants. The above definition of asthma is based on the conclusions of the pathophysiology of young people's asthma in recent years. As for the pathogenesis of asthma in the elderly, especially whether airway inflammation is the same as that of young people, there is no data to prove it.
