Sputum culture

When a bacterial infection of the human lung or bronchi occurs, the amount of sputum is significantly increased. The bacterial culture of sputum and the isolation of pathogenic bacteria are helpful for the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases of the lower respiratory tract.
