Intraorbital fibrohistiocytoma
Fibrous histiocytoma (fibrous histiocytoma) is a tumor composed of fibroblasts and hypertrophic histiocytes. In the past, there were many names, but now they are collectively called fibrohistiocytoma. Mostly occur in the muscles, fascia, and adipose tissue of the limb, and it has recently been recognized that it is also common in the orbit. Jakobiec et al. Described fibrohistiocytoma as the most common mesenchymal tumor in the orbit of adults. It can also occur in the eyelid, conjunctiva, lacrimal sac, and limbus, but it is most common in the orbit. Most of the tumors are classified as mesenchymal tumors, but because of the large number of fibroblasts, the authors also discuss them as fibrous connective tissue tumors.
