Erythrocyte pyruvate kinase

Red blood cell enzymes play an important role in regulating red blood cell metabolism. PK is a transferase in the lysosome of the cell. The lack of the enzyme leads to a decrease in energy supply and the shortening of the life span of the red blood cells causes hemolytic anemia.
