Serum amyloid A

SAA is an acute phase protein and binds to plasma high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Clinical studies now focus on SAA types during the acute response to inflammatory diseases. Compared with the well-proven acute phase protein-CRP, SAA has been used to test whether it has any advantages in the diagnosis of acute inflammatory diseases.
