Acute renal failure in children

Acute kidney damage caused by any reason, which can drastically reduce the nephron regulatory function within hours to days, fail to maintain body fluid electrolyte balance and excrete metabolites, leading to hyperkalemia, metabolic acidosis and acute uremia syndrome, Collectively referred to as acute renal failure (ARF). Acute renal failure is a common clinical syndrome. ARF can be divided into prerenal, renal, and postrenal by the etiology. According to clinical manifestations, they can be divided into oliguria type and non-oliguria type and high resolution type. If pediatric ARF can be diagnosed early and treated in time, renal function can be reversed to normal, otherwise chronic renal insufficiency will remain.
