Serum aldosterone
The role of aldosterone is to promote the reabsorption of sodium by renal tubule epithelial cells and promote the excretion of potassium. The secretion of aldosterone has a diurnal secretion pattern similar to cortisol, which is lower in the morning than at night. The upright position is more than the horizontal position, and its plasma concentration changes accordingly.
