Chronic bronchitis in the elderly
Chronic bronchitis is a chronic, non-specific inflammation of the trachea-bronchial mucosa and surrounding tissues caused by infection or non-infectious factors. Its pathological characteristics are bronchial mucus hyperplasia and increased mucus secretion. The clinical manifestations are cough, sputum or asthma that lasts for more than 2 years and lasts for more than 3 months each year. The onset of this disease is insidious. The early symptoms are mild. Most of them occur in the winter and are relieved after the warm spring. The course is prolonged and repeated, and emphysema and pulmonary heart disease are often complicated.
