Umbilical bulge

Umbilical bulge (acromphalus) is a common type of congenital abdominal wall malformation. It is caused by congenital hypoplasia of the abdominal wall, and abdominal wall defects are formed around the umbilical cord. Because the disease is related to chromosomal abnormalities, the sick child may be accompanied by deformities of other organs at the same time as umbilical bulge. Mortality from mishandling is high. The vast majority of sick children need surgery immediately after birth, otherwise it will be difficult for the sick children to continue to survive due to local skin rupture, necrosis, and infection. In a few cases, scars are formed due to gradual fibrosis of the capsule, which protects the prolapsed internal organs and prevents early death. The mortality of this disease is related to the treatment time, and surgery should be carried out as soon as possible.
