Pseudohypoparathyroidism
Pseudo-hypoparathyroidism is a hereditary disease with symptoms and signs of hypoparathyroidism. First reported by Albright in 1942, it is also known as Albright's hereditary osteodystrophy; this disease is mainly caused by the insensitivity of the target organs (bone and kidney) to parathyroid hormone, parathyroid hyperplasia, and increased parathyroid hormone in the blood. Clinical manifestations are hypoparathyroidism; typical cases have unique bone and developmental defects.
