Acute pancreatitis in the elderly

Senile acute pancreatitis (senile acute pancreatitis) is an acute inflammatory lesion of the pancreas caused by the pancreas self-digestion in the elderly. It is an important cause of acute abdomen in the elderly, accounting for 5% to 7%. Acute pancreatitis occurs less frequently in the elderly than in the young. However, once the disease often occurs due to poor stress function and many complications, resulting in the rapid development of the disease, shock and multiple organ failure can occur early.
