Shingles

Herpes zoster (HZ) is an acute herpes dermatosis caused by varicella-zoster virus (VZV). It is characterized by clustered blisters distributed along the peripheral nerves on one side of the body in a band-like manner, accompanied by significant neuralgia and local lymphadenopathy, and rarely recurs after healing. People with shingles are generally immune to the virus for life.
