Pediatric Sjogren's Syndrome
Sjouml; grens syndrome (SS) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease of systemic exocrine glands, especially lacrimal and salivary glands. It can affect other organs at the same time, causing a variety of clinical manifestations, but the main symptoms are dry eyes and dry mouth. The age of onset is mostly in the middle to old age of 40-60 years, with fewer children. Therefore, children with Sjogren's syndrome are rare. The incidence of Sjogren's syndrome is second only to rheumatoid arthritis in the United States. For many years, this disease has been relatively unfamiliar in China, and it did not attract attention until 1980, and it was observed and studied.
