Fat sore
Fat sores are a dermatophyte infection that occurs on the scalp and hair. It is equivalent to yellow ringworm in tinea capsicum in western medicine, and it is extremely contagious. It is more common in rural children, and may also occur in adolescents and adults. It is characterized by scalp damage with small round sulphur thick palate, crusts that are crunchy, rat odor, and superficial ulcers under the crotch. Several crusts can be fused into slices, leaving atrophic scars and hair loss after healing. The course of the disease is slow. It can be reduced by puberty, but it cannot heal by itself. If it is not treated, it will not heal for life. Treatment is based on the principle of insecticide and detoxification.
