Cellulitis
Cellulitis is a purulent infection of subcutaneous tissue. It is most often caused by Streptococcus pyogenes or Staphylococcus aureus. Most children are infected with Staphylococcus aureus; cellulitis around diabetic and decubitus ulcers includes mixed infections including Gram-positive cocci, Gram-negative aerobic bacteria, and anaerobic bacteria.
