Liver and lung syndrome

Hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) is hypoxemia caused by pulmonary vasodilation and abnormal arterial oxygenation, which are complicated by various acute and chronic liver diseases. It is essentially a triad of primary liver disease, pulmonary vasodilation, and insufficient arterial oxygenation.
