Leukoencephalopathy is a structural change in the brain. It is mainly characterized by damage to the myelin sheath of central nervous cells. The lesion involves white matter bundles that specialize in advanced brain functions. Its clinical manifestations range from inattention, forgetfulness, and personality changes to dementia, coma, and even death.
