Metabolic acidosis

Metabolic acidosis is the most common type of acid-base disorder. It is caused by an increase in extracellular fluid H + or loss of HCO3-. It is characterized by a primary reduction in HCO3- (21 mmol / L) and a decrease in pH (7.35). In the clinical judgment of metabolic acidosis, anion gap (AG) has important clinical value. According to different AG values, it can be divided into high AG normal chlorine type and normal AG high chlorine type metabolic acidosis.
