Benign prostatic hyperplasia
Hyperplasia of prostate: Short for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as benign prostatic hypertrophy. But from a pathological point of view, cell proliferation is hyperplasia, and cell enlargement is hypertrophy. The pathology of benign prostatic hyperplasia confirms that the cells are multiplying, not cellular hypertrophy. Therefore, the correct name should be benign prostatic hyperplasia, referred to as benign prostatic hyperplasia. Prostatic hyperplasia is a common disease in older men over 50 years of age.
