Purulent infection of the lungs
Pathogens such as pneumococcus invade the human blood circulation, grow and reproduce in it or produce toxins, causing severe symptoms of lung infection or poisoning. The most common is pyogenic bacteria. The common features of purulent inflammation are redness, swelling, heat, pain and dysfunction.
