Swimming kidney
The normal kidney position is the hilum equivalent to the first and second lumbar vertebrae, with the right side slightly lower than the left. In the upright position, the kidney can drop 2 to 5 cm, which is equivalent to a vertebral body. Those who exceed this range are called renal sagging. In a small number of patients, the kidney is wrapped by the peritoneum and the renal pedicle is loose, and it can move in the abdominal area. Some even drop to the lower abdomen or pelvis, or cross the midline to the contralateral abdomen. Such renal sags are called migratory kidneys. Right.
