Pediatric X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency disease

Severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) includes a group of genetic diseases that may or may not be accompanied by abnormal B cell differentiation. If hematopoietic stem cell transplants are not given, they often die in childhood. The incidence of this disease is estimated to be 1 in 50,000 to 100,000 live births.
