Ossification of the thoracic ligamentum flavum
Although ossification of ligamenta flava (OLF) is rare in the clinic, its clinical symptoms are complicated, and it is easy to delay treatment due to misdiagnosis, resulting in irreversible damage to the long-term and continuously compressed spinal cord. The ratio of male to female patients is 2: 1, and most of them develop after middle age. The disease is more common in Asians, especially Japanese; it is rare in whites.
