Hyperplasia of tongue

Chronic lingual tonsilitis (chronic lingual tonsilitis), or lingual tonsillitis, is often changed from recurrent acute tongue tonsillitis to chronic. Mostly related to chronic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, excessive alcohol and tobacco, delicious irritating food and stimulation of harmful gases. It often coexists with chronic tonsillitis. After tonsillectomy, compensatory hypertrophy of the tongue tonsils may also occur. The disease occurs mostly in adults and rarely in children.
