Facial numbness

"Numbness" means numbness in the skin. "Ma" means sensation, and "Mu" means no sensation. When there is a difference, clinically, "Ma" and "Mu" are often seen together, so they are commonly called "numb". The trigeminal nerve governs facial sensation, and any lesion that damages the sensory branch of the trigeminal nerve and its conductive fibers can cause facial numbness. Symptoms and signs can be seen in epidermoid cysts.
