Chronic suppurative pleurisy
The acute empyema does not disappear after 4 to 6 weeks of treatment, and the pus is thick and has a large amount of deposits, suggesting that the empyema has entered a chronic phase. Chronic empyema patients have a thickened pleura due to long-term infection and physical consumption, especially the parietal pleura thickening.
